Love is the Gift
When you think of the word love, what does it mean to you?
Who are the types of people that have loved you unconditionally? (Can you give of examples of who and how?)
Do you believe you’ve received the Love of God as a gift? (or) Do you still try to prove your worth for his love? Explain.
How does God continue to show you love? What ways do you believe God has shown you love?
Is it possible to love someone without liking that person? Explain.
Respond to the following quote from C. S. Lewis.
Practice this principle at least once this week. Love like God loves you.
The rule for all of us is perfectly simple. Do not waste time bothering whether you “love” your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him. If you injure someone you dislike, you will find yourself disliking him more. If you do him a good turn, you will find yourself disliking him less.2
