Our Beliefs
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in its original manuscripts. The Bible is our supreme and final authority in faith and life.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
We believe there is one God eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 3; John 4:24; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 1:20; Ephesians 4:5-6; 2 Cor. 13:14)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
(Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13)
The Fall
We believe man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God. All human beings are born into a broken world corrupted by a sin nature and in need of salvation.
(Genesis 1:26-27, 3:1-24; Romans 3:25; Romans 5:12-18; 1 John 1:8)
Salvation
We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He rose victorious from the grave on the third day; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. We believe that all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God through faith.
(Isaiah 53; Matthew 20:28, 28:6; John 1:12-13, 3:3,5,16; Romans 3:24-26, 5:1, 19:9; 1 Cor. 15:3,14; 2 Cor. 5:51; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23; 1 John 2:2)
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead, destroy evil once and for all, and renew all things unto Himself.
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the eternal third person of the Trinity, fully divine. The Holy Spirit works to glorify the Son by regenerating those dead in sin so they might respond to the gospel, filling the believer and uniting them to Christ, sanctifying them, and empowering them for gospel witness and equipping them for service in the church through spiritual gifts.
(Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:21-22; John 3:5-6; Acts 1:8; Romans 15:16; 1 Cor. 2:10, 12:4-11; 2 Cor. 3:18, 13:14; Ephesians 4:11-16)
The Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
(John 5:28-29; 1 Cor. 15; 2 Cor. 5:10; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:4-6, 20:11-15)
The Fall
We believe man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God. All human beings are born into a broken world corrupted by a sin nature and in need of salvation.
(Genesis 1:26-27, 3:1-24; Romans 3:25, 5:12-18; 1 John 1:8)
Baptism
We believe that water baptism by immersion is the biblical and public testimony of the professed believer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:28-41, 47, 8:36-40, 10:47, 18:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-4)
The Lord's Supper
We believe that water baptism by immersion is the biblical and public testimony of the professed believer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:28-41, 47, 8:36-40, 10:47, 18:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-4)
Marriage
We believe that the marriage covenant, as designed by God, is for our good and human flourishing. It is the union of one man and one woman in a committed monogamous relationship over a lifetime.
(Genesis 1:26-27, 2:24; Matthew 19:5)
